Day 40: Tabernacle built

More on the beautiful sight of the Tabernacle. God’s dwellling place on earth. I guess for the Israelites this was concrete proof of the fact that their God was with them. How important that must have been in the wilderness.

Curtains of goats’ hair
Exodus 36:14-18
Covering of rams’ skins
Exodus 36:19
Boards and sockets
Exodus 36:20-30
Framework of the Tabernacle
Exodus 36:31-34
Inner and outer veils
Exodus 36:35-38
Altar of burnt offering
Exodus 38:1-7
Bronze basin
Exodus 38:8
Court
Exodus 38:9-20
Altar of incense made
Exodus 37:25-29

I was curious to try and visualise what the Tabernacle would look like, so I googled “recreating the Tabernacle.” Sure enough someone in America has made one, and there are lots of pictures.
It’s quite impressive, although the girth of the “Levite” in the pictures is even more so! I need to try and image this in the middle of a makeshift camp or shanty town, which I guess is how the Israelites were living.
