As yesterday - more of the same! I'm late in posting this morning because my wife's ill, so it's fallen to me to make the children and animals ready for the day. All went comparatively smoothly, though more slowly than when Rachel's in charge, but why O why can my son never find socks without help?

Moses does his best to make it a no brainer for the Israelites. Obey God, and everything will be fine: don’t, and it won’t. He can’t really make it any clearer for them.
The Egyptians worshipped the Nile, and its annual floodings made their land fertile. The Promised Land will be different. There’s no big river to irrigate the land, they will have to depend on the rain from heaven. Moses uses this idea to fix people’s attention on God, saying, you need him to send the rain. So be good.
